퇴사 시 보내는 영어 인사말 예시

 

이제 지금 직장에 다닌지  4 년 반이 지났다.

그 동안 부서가 급격하게 성장했음에도 불구하고, Z의 훌륭한 리더쉽 덕분인지  - 회사를 떠나는 이들은, 이직보다는 개인적인 상황 변화에 의한 사직이 대부분이었다.

그 개인적인 상황 변화라는 것도 독특한 것들이 꽤 있었는데 가령 다음과 같다. 

 

호주에서 영국으로 이동 - 원래 영국 출신인데, 이혼을 하며서 자녀를 데리고 호주로 왔서 꽤나 오랜 기간 동안 살다가 ,

어머님의 급격한 건강 악화로, 직장을 관두고 영국으로 되돌아 감. 약  1 년이 지난 후, 어머니가 돌아가시고, 그녀는 다시 호주로 와서, 회사에 재입사 함.

 

주 5 일 근무에서 주 3일 근무로 변경  - 원래 결혼 및 육아를 하며 마흔 (혹은 쉰?)을 훌쩍 넘긴 나이에, 아이들도 다 크고,

심심해서 임상연구쪽에 발을 디딤. 회사 일 이외에도 그녀는 본인의 와이너리를 열겠다는 꿈이 있었는데, 점진적인 실행 끝에 - 와이너리를 드디어 오픈 하는 해에, 본인의 사업에 좀 더 집중하기 위해 주 5일 대신, 주 3일 근무를 요청했는데, 회사와 절충에 실패하여 주 3 일 근무가 가능한 곳으로 이직함.

그녀의 와이너리는 상당히 성공적으로 자리 잡아가는거 같고, 지금은 진(Gin)도 만들고 있음.

 

부모님의 약국을 이어받기 위해 진로 변경  --> 본인은 약사가 아니었는데, 부모님 약국을 물려받기 위해 이제라도 약대에 진학하기 위해, 직장을 관두고, 약대 입시 공부 시작 및 전 가족이 캔버라로 이주.

 

세계일주  - 폴란드인인데, 남편과 같이 호주로 와서 직장생활을 하다가, 지금 아니면 언제 세계여행을 하겠냐며 남편과 같이 회사를 관두고 세계일주를 떠남.

 

영국으로 이주 - 본인 및 남자친구 (당시 결혼 전) 모두 호주 사람인데, 어느 날 문득 다른 나라에 가서 살아볼까? 했더니 남친이  "응!!" 하더라고 함. 그래서 회사의 영국 지사로 보내달라고 요청을 함. 어쩐 일인지 받아들여짐 (역시 CRA는 다른 나라로 가기가 용이하다). 그래서  2018 년 NSW의 오렌지 (Orange)지역에 있는 어느 와이너리에서 결혼식을 하고, 퇴사함.

사실 퇴사라기보다는 장기 휴가를 내고 몇 개월에 걸쳐 히말라야 등반 및 인도 여행을 한 후, 영국으로 가서 새로운 환경에서 근무를 시작할 예정임.  

 

스트레스가 극심한 본인의 직위/ 직무 (계약서 및 돈 관련 업무를 담당하고 있었음)에 지쳐서 삶이 피폐해 지자 진로를 변경하기로 결심하고 사직함. 그녀는 간호대학에 진학할 예정이라고 함. 

 

호주에서는, 한국에서는 생각해보지 못한, 정말 좀 독특하고 다양한 경우들이 많은 것 같다. 위에는 퇴사의 경우지만, 그 외에도 무급 장기 휴가를 가는 경우도 참 많다. 한국이라면 "사표 내!!" 할테지만, 여기서는  "그래? No problem!" 이라고 하는거 같다면 과장일까?

일례로, 내가 있는 부서의 부서장인  Z도, long service leave라고해서 3개월간의 장기 휴가를 다녀왔다. 미리 계획만 잘 세우면, 가능한 경우가 많은 것 같다. 

 

아무튼! 본론으로 돌아와서, 혹시라도 영어로 퇴사 인사말을 써야하는데, 어떻게 하지, 뭐라고 쓰지 하며 망설이시는 분들을 위해 몇 가지 실례를 올려본다
